Benign Eccrine Spiradenoma

A benign eccrine spiradenoma is a noncancerous tumor located in the sweat glands (eccrine). These tumors are made up of two different types of cells and can be up to 5cm in diameter. They are most common on the head, neck, posterior, and arms followed by legs. Symptoms include pain, increased sensation, and tenderness. This type of tumor is most common in people are 15-35, although they can develop during infancy. Treatment may include surgery to remove the tumors, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
