Cerebellum Agenesis Hydrocephaly

Common Name(s)

Cerebellum Agenesis Hydrocephaly

Cerebellum Agenesis Hydrocephaly is a rare set of birth defects, or a syndrome. This syndrome is characterized by low muscle tone at birth (infantile hypotonia), lack of muscle coordination (ataxia), clouding of the eye which affects vision (cataracts), and intellectual difficulties by preschool age. This syndrome has been found in four patients in two families. Doctors seek help from various therapists and community services to provide support and care for families affected by intellectual disability, and other treatment may include physical therapy to increase muscle tone.
