Cerebral Gigantism Jaw Cysts

Cerebral Gigantism Jaw Cysts is a rare set of birth defects, or a syndrome. This syndrome is characterized by excessive growth during the first few years of life (cerebral gigantism), and fluid-filled cavities (jaw cysts). Symptoms may include: abnormal levels of calcium salts in the brain (calcification), jawbone cysts, large head, tall statue, lack of muscle movement during involuntary movement such as walking (ataxia), brain malformations, and eye movement problems. This syndrome has been reported in less than 10 people in two families. Treatment varies on a case-by-case basis and depends on the specific birth defects present; for example, physical therapy may be used to help combat ataxia.
