Cerebral Ventricle Cancer

Common Name(s)

Cerebral Ventricle Cancer

Cerebral Ventricle Cancer is a type of cancer that affects the brain. This type of cancer is characterized by tumors that grow in the cerebral ventricles, and may block the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and cause increased pressure in the brain. Other symptoms may include: seizures, visual changes, slurred speech, drowsiness, bodily weakness, short-term memory loss, disturbed movement, and communication difficulties. Brain tumors can be diagnosed using blood and urine tests, neurological exams, MRIs, X-rays, and spinal taps. Treatment depends on the size and specific location of the tumor, and the age and overall health of the patient. Treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, antiseizure medication, and steroids (to treat swelling in the brain).
